Over the years, we've been asked to do quite a bit of logo work. Here, we wanted to showcase some of the more delicate, yet bold, designs we've completed for our favorite female entrepreneurs as they established their brands.
If you know the staff here at Idea Garden, you know that the one thing we are most passionate about, besides good marketing, is good food. That's why we are so excited to announce our partnership with Haven Hospitality Concepts. Haven South Beach is a dazzling restaurant, bar and lounge located on South Beach's Lincoln Road that draws in passersby with its constantly evolving wall-to-wall video projection system which pairs seamlessly with a fully immersive lighting and sound system. As if that weren't enough, celebrity chef Todd Erickson is in the kitchen piecing together a slew of absolutely delicious small plates and sushi rolls while master mixologists are behind the bar ready to shake up some of the best craft cocktails on the beach.
This haven isn't safe from brand issues, however. Due to the cocktail bar's popularity and the overall look and feel of the venue (as well as it's respective marketing strategy), it holds a reputation as a great nightlife spot, leaving the kitchen unnoticed. Many patrons are unaware that they even serve food... nothing short of a travesty!
Enter, Idea Garden - the group that can't fathom Miami not having a taste of Chef Todd's culinary creations. We've been signed on to a 6-week marketing consult to help re-brand, re-strategize and re-communicate EVERYTHING Haven has to offer... but first, Chef will have to remind us how good his food is with a tasting!
It isn't uncommon for core brand creative to get updated year after year for annual events... but when artwork is just starting to get recognizable among a niche audience, it can be a daunting task to give an old look a new feel without losing the brand awareness you've spent so long building. Enter, the "refresh". A strategic way to dust off that creative you're tired of looking at while maintaining the brand progress you've made. This year's Battle 4 Atlantis creative got just that. We led the charge, partnering with creative genius Anderson Santos to clean up the old look and add a new splash of color and excitement.
With all of the "girly" marketing targeted at women these days, it is a dream for a female graphic designer to get a call from a client who wants her to make something bold and powerful for a women-only event. I am thrilled to have been asked to design this logo for The Women's Fund of Miami-Dade's Women Who Run The World event. This marketing program is a network-building strategy that encourages women to participate in Women's Fund events by awarding members with exclusive charms they can collect on a bracelet. See the bracelet in the logo now? :)

As Battle 4 Atlantis' popularity grows, our focus has shifted towards sponsorships. With this year's move to nation-wide broadcasting on ESPN, Atlantis has upped its sponsorship game with the addition of a magnificently bright courtside LED board. We were asked to oversee all sponsor activations, directing the board operator minute by minute for each of the 12 games and designing on-demand graphics as needed. We partnered with brands as big as Coca-Cola, State Farm and Geico to make sure brand standards were met and also designed all of the Atlantis boards which were seen by millions. Pretty exciting stuff.
None of us have kids here in the office yet, but we do like them quite a bit! So much so that we are teaming up with Our Kids again on this year's foster family recruitment campaign. We used these silly shots from a recent event's photo booth to create a slew of images for everything from bumper stickers to billboards. It was as fun as it looks!
In preparation for the 4th annual Battle 4 Atlantis, we were sent to Orlando to direct editing of the 2014 teaser. It was such a great experience working with Go Convergence to determine which of the many amazing shots from previous years would make the cut. We think the spot does a great job of setting the tone for all of the basketball action that will hit Atlantis come November.
It's not every day London's calling. That's why when my good friend Chef Andy Bates called looking for a logo for his specialist food company Eat My Pies, I jumped at the opportunity and made him a full brand package, including this table cover for his appearances at street food events.

Atlantis, Paradise Island, Bahamas becomes home to the first-ever Atlantis LIVE Paradise Music Festival (PMF). In its inaugural year, the festival is country-focused and presented by HGTV. The development of this campaign requires a multi-faceted marketing approach including radio promotions and social media campaigns as well as the organization of exclusive artist interaction experiences, live radio broadcasts and a video shoot at the event. With respect to radio, we've pitched stations in 13 markets with high-ranking country stations, with the goal of confirming 6 promotions and sourcing opportunities for live broadcasts. Each on-air and online element of this campaign is crucial as it sets the foundational branding for PMF as an annual event.

My very first truly official job was a Radio Promotions Representative for Universal Orlando Resort. At that time, well over a decade ago, radio promotions were just that - promotions on the radio. The world of radio has changed so much since then. Consumers don't just listen to the radio on the radio anymore. Campaigns now come with a slew of digital assets to choose from and it's now almost as important to make sure to negotiate online assets as much as on-air support for radio promotions. A great example is this radio website homepage takeover we negotiated for Atlantis as part of their Texas Resident offer promotion. It accumulated over 126K impressions in just 2 weeks and was pretty hard to miss!

The 3rd annual Battle 4 Atlantis took place over Thanksgiving at Atlantis, Paradise Island. After an entire year working hard to execute the event marketing campaign, Idea Garden set out to the Bahamas to oversee sponsor activation's and video production. This video recaps the highlights straight from the Imperial Arena and announces next year's field. It is the first full-length recap in the event's history and we are so proud to have coordinated and directed the shoot and editing.
For the second year in a row, Atlantis is celebrating their partnership with JetBlue Getaways by taking over their biggest terminal in the US, JFK's T-5 in New York. This is the second year we've been asked to be involved from the start, coming up with fun guest activities, assisting with the design of the space, ordering promotional materials, working with Jetblue to coordinate access to the airport and managing overall execution and staff.
This year we helped to add a fully interactive area, complete with photo ops, games and even a Battle 4 Atlantis themed basketball pop-a-shot. We also added an early check-in program for guests heading to Atlantis this year, which we executed using an iPad program that sent guest information directly to the front desk at the hotel.
All in all, the event was a lot of fun and a huge success. Aside from the simple brand exposure to passersby and distribution of close to 20K promotional items, 976 photos taken at the electronic photo booths were shared in social media and creating over 66K impressions on facebook and 40K on Twitter. We also collected hundreds of emails and opt-ins via "The Great Escape" contest which will award one winner a Grand Prize trip to Atlantis.
It may be hard to picture how graphic designers would be able to contribute towards the massive fight against cancer, but we can tell you it's possible. This week we designed an entire campaign's worth of collateral for the 17th annual Dolphin's Cycling Challenge (DCC) as part of our partnership with the University of Miami's Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center. This campaign will help recruit people to ride in the DCC as well as celebrate cancer survivors in the days after. It's nice to know there IS something we can do.
Here at Idea Garden we are huge supporters of start up businesses, so when a friend needed a logo for his new event production company (and promised it would be easy) we came to the rescue with this clean and simple design. It is now being used on his website, business cards, and uniforms. It is also projected on screens before and after all of his events. We're pretty proud of it and Luke Hunter for taking on this endeavor! Best of luck to Ovation One.
We are so excited to announce that we've officially been tasked with the full Battle 4 Atlantis marketing campaign this year. In years past, we've been called on to support various facets of the campaign and design graphics. However, as the event has started to see significant growth and is now attracting big-name universities, Atlantis decided they needed a dedicated campaign manager and we were more than happy to answer that call as well.
This year, in addition to overseeing most graphic design projects, we've managed all communications with the participating schools, pushing for delivery of their contracted marketing obligations. A beautiful example of something we negotiated is the immense support on Villanova's athletics website, seen above. We will also be attending the event for the first time this year, overseeing sponsor activations, social media and video production.
Battle has officially become our baby, which is an honor as we remember the first call we received about this little "tester" basketball event back in 2010. Battle 4 Atlantis has grown so much since... we look forward to doing the same.
We are so happy to announce that we are partnering up with Our Kids of Miami-Dade & Monroe to help them with their foster family recruitment campaign. Our Kids is an organization dedicated to finding foster families for abused, abandoned and neglected children. It feels really good to be helping with this cause where we can and we look forward to continued work with Our Kids!
We are quite excited to officially launch our blog today in an attempt to capture the scope of what we're doing here at Idea Garden. This month we've been focused on our biggest client, Atlantis, Paradise Island, Bahamas, specifically on the marketing campaign for their Battle 4 Atlantis event in addition to all of the usual radio promotion efforts we manage.
Battle, as we lovingly call it, is a NCAA pre-season tournament that takes place over Thanksgiving in a ballroom at Atlantis. Hard to believe, right? They literally strip down their Imperial Ballroom of everything from wall dividers to chandeliers in order to build out a fully equipped basketball arena with close to 4,000 seats. The event is broadcast on AXS-TV and NBC Sports Network, but contracts have already been signed to move bigger game broadcasts to ESPN next year.
As the popularity of the event grows, we've been tasked with assisting with sponsor acquisitions by creating special presentations showcasing the event's growth and value. Not only do we custom design each deck, but we also come up with ideas for sponsor activations at the event, which is our favorite part.
We're excited to be a part of Team Battle and hope to get an invite to work the events in years to come!
